Hi, I'm Raviteja
Software Engineer
Backend engineer with 6 years building and scaling distributed systems โ event-driven pipelines, high-throughput APIs, multi-cloud deployments. I've led backend work end-to-end, collaborating with frontend and DevOps teams, handling client requirements directly, and making observability actually useful when things go wrong.
Recently been getting into AI on the engineering side. Built a multi-agent system where specialist LLMs analyze rate-limiter telemetry and an orchestrator turns their signals into a verdict. Building things rather than just reading about it.
Where I've Worked
Experience
Software Engineer
Aug '24 โ PresentArchitecting enterprise-grade backend systems and scaling distributed architectures across multi-cloud environments (GCP/OCI) for the Rexdat project.
- System Architecture: Scaled high-throughput APIs utilizing API-first design and OAuth2 security, ensuring seamless interoperability for enterprise-grade integrations.
- Distributed Systems: Engineered a resilient event-driven processing system using Apache Kafka; implemented idempotent consumers and DLQs to ensure 100% message delivery reliability.
- Performance Engineering: Reduced database load and improved API response times by 70% through bottleneck analysis and the implementation of a high-availability Redis cluster.
- DevOps & Cloud: Standardized the deployment lifecycle by containerizing services with Docker and architecting CI/CD pipelines across GCP and OCI to ensure environment parity.
- Fintech: Developed a secure Stripe infrastructure with webhook signature verification and idempotent patterns to guarantee transaction integrity.
- Observability: Spearheaded the integration of OpenTelemetry and Grafana, significantly reducing MTTR through real-time distributed tracing and root-cause analysis.
Associate Software Engineer Intern
Jan '24 โ Apr '24Focused on core API development, cloud storage infrastructure, and establishing rigorous testing and security standards for the Realoq platform.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Engineered secure file upload systems using GCP Cloud Storage and OCI Object Storage, leveraging Pre-Signed URLs and IAM-based access control.
- API Development: Built resilient backend services using JHipster, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch; integrated Slipstream and communication gateways while applying Fluent Interface design patterns.
- Reliability & Quality: Achieved 95% code coverage using JUnit and SonarCloud, contributing to a 30% reduction in application downtime.
- Security & Monitoring: Fortified application security with Keycloak and established foundational observability using GCP Cloud Operations (Stackdriver).
Senior Software Engineer
Managed client requirements for the Phoenix module. Developed APIs using Core Java and Hibernate with Oracle & Elasticsearch. Oversaw AWS deployments using Lambda and EC2 for scalable application performance.
Application Specialist
Led end-to-end development of a healthcare application using Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, MySQL, and JavaScript. Deployed services on AWS (EC2, S3, CloudWatch). Reduced bug rate by 40% through comprehensive test case coverage.
Executive
Implemented backend solutions with Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security, improving system performance and reducing response times by 15%. Built frontend components with JavaScript and Ajax, maintaining 95% code coverage.
What I've Built
Projects
Rate Limiting
- Atomic token bucket enforcement using Bucket4j Lua scripts, guarantees no race conditions under concurrency
- Configurable fail-open / fail-closed behavior with circuit breaker support, ensuring service availability during Redis outages
- Full per-request audit trail, including bot detection, User-Agent parsing, and remaining token counts
- MCP server enabling AI agents to query live bucket state, audit logs, and overall service health
Rate Limiter Agents - Multi-Agent Monitoring
- 3 specialist agents each cover one signal: error bursts, token health, or traffic spikes, each returns a severity (none to critical)
- Orchestrator reads all three and outputs a single action: monitor, alert, throttle, or block
- Baseline adapts by time of day and day of week so off-hours spikes don't false-alarm
- Daily evals run against fixed scenarios to catch when agent decisions regress
API Gateway
- Single entry point for multiple services
- Host-based routing
- Rate limit enforcement via external Rate Limiter Service
- Circuit breaking
